The Quantum Informatics CDT is pleased to announce that applications are now open for up to 16 fully funded four-year PhD studentships beginning in September 2026.
The CDT offers a dynamic environment for both academic study and hands-on exploration, preparing students to excel in the rapidly evolving field of quantum informatics. This four-year programme combines a taught first year with a three-year, in-depth research project, providing a comprehensive training experience that develops technical expertise, professional skills, and critical thinking. Students will engage in impactful research, collaborate with leading experts, and benefit from access to over 70 academic supervisors and more than 30 industry partners, creating opportunities for collaboration, placements, as well as leadership and entrepreneurship development.
Funding covers tuition fees, a four-year stipend, and a personal budget for research and travel. The programme welcomes applications from both UK and international candidates with strong academic backgrounds in relevant disciplines such as computing science, engineering, mathematics, or physics.
The deadline for applications is 8 January 2026.
