The Quantum Informatics CDT has officially welcomed its first cohort of PhD students, an exciting milestone in the programme’s mission to develop the next generation of leaders in quantum technologies.
These students begin a four-year journey of advanced training, interdisciplinary collaboration, and pioneering research at the cutting edge of quantum science. Their work will span quantum service architectures and applications, through to enabling technologies that are set to shape the future of computing, communication, and sensing.
Through a unique combination of academic expertise and strong industry partnerships, the CDT provides an environment where students can tackle challenges of real-world importance. The programme is designed not only to advance scientific knowledge but also to deliver impactful, interoperable solutions that accelerate the adoption of quantum technologies across sectors.
As Cohort 1 embarks on their studies, the CDT looks forward to the discoveries and innovations they will bring, and to the positive impact their work will have across academia, industry, and society.
